Legacy Golf Course is an 18 hole, public golf course, located about 15 minutes from downtown St. Louis, Missouri.
Located in Granite City, Illinois, it was opened in 1989. The golf course was designed by Hale Irwin, and was originally managed by his firm for the first few years. The Granite City Park District took over ownership of Legacy in October, 2009, and has consistently invested into the facility ever since.
The greens at Legacy, which is the most important part of any golf course, have consistently been ranked as among the best in the area. Attention to detail is unique compared to most golf courses. You can see this in the new range balls constantly added , to armor all the golf carts, to excellence and expectations in handling customers in all circumstances. In short, WE CARE!!
As proof, Legacy was awarded the Suburban Journal’s “Reader’s Choice Award” for 6 straight years, as well as the Advantage News “Reader’s Choice Award for two years in a row!
The Granite City Park District has maintained a very low rate compared to the industry over the last 9 years. This philosophy is due to the fact that once a golfer comes out and experiences Legacy one time, they will return again and again.
Testimony to this is the participation in leagues and tournaments we have developed from scratch, such as the St. Patrick’s Day Tournament, Patriot’s in the Park, Chili Open or 2 person scrambles on Thursday’s.
We invite you to come out to experience Legacy for yourself.
